Let Airboat Adventures in Panama City Beach, FL take you on a discovery tour of the lesser traveled rivers, creeks, marshlands and West Bay of the Panama City Beach area. You’ll find these trips on the Swampvette and Mudstang airboats to be loads of fun for vacationers of all ages. Don’t tell the kids that they are also getting valuable science and history lessons to boot. Go in search of a multitude of wildlife that are native to this Florida territory as you skim across the water with the growl of powerful engines. The Swampvette accommodates groups as large as 18, while the Mudstang is great for smaller parties up to 6 passengers. While aboard these Everglade style airboats, you’ll need to keep your eyes pealed for any and all native wildlife. Some of the fascinating creatures you might see are alligators, bald eagles, heron and even dolphins when you’re need the deeper waters.
The boat captains are terrific with a great deal of knowledge to share. They are all U.S. Coast Guard licensed Master Captains and provide riveting information with loads of fast running boat action. Airboat Adventures provides several trips daily and usually one each evening. Sunset/Night trips are particularly enticing as the gators love to come out after dusk. The darkness greatly adds to the suspense and anticipation of never knowing what you’ll find around the next turn.
Be on the look out for those wild and sneaky gators. Though there is no guarantee that you’ll get to see them in the wild, they’re sure to be a highlight of the trip if you do. Even if you’re not lucky enough to spot one, there are a couple of these mighty creatures back at the dock, along with at least one youngster that kids and adults can hold for some great picture opportunities. Airboat Adventures gets great reviews from their customers. Whether they spot any gators or not, they say the boat ride through the rough areas of nature is worth the trip. Rather than feeding the gators to get them to come to the boats, this outfit prefers to let things happen naturally like they should. Remember too, that the alligators appear more often during certain seasons and under the most favorable conditions. Most customers that don’t get to see the gators are still very satisfied with the great ride. Your captain will supply lots of great information during your adventure and will be glad to answer questions.

For those who would like to take a calmer and longer trip on on the river, they also have the River Runner with 3-4 hour trips for up to six passengers. If you’re interested, call and ask about times, availability and prices as they are not listed on the website.
It’s very important to the owner, Captain Rick, that everyone has a great time on their airboat tour. He wants you to let him know if there were any problems or disappointments, though that rarely happens. He believes in taking care of his customers.
On an interesting note, the boats are USCG (U.S. Coast Guard) Approved. They are also safe for the environment since they don’t have propellers in the water that could invade the natural habitats of the abundant wildlife. These airboats can skim over even an inch or two of water allowing them to go places other boats would never attempt. While in the swamp, they normally don’t see water levels over 6-12 inches deep.
